This classy Hawke's Bay wine is blended from classic red Bordeaux varieties, estate-grown in the Bridge Pa Triangle. The 2016 vintage (4.5*) is a marriage of Cabernet Sauvignon (52 per cent), Cabernet Franc (24 per cent), Merlot (18 per cent) and Malbec (6 per cent). Matured for two years in French oak barrels (60 per cent new), it is full-coloured and invitingly fragrant. Mouthfilling and supple, with good concentration of ripe blackcurrant, red berry, spice and herb flavours, it's a complex, harmonious red, still unfolding. Best drinking 2023+.
