This popular red is grown at Bannockburn, on the south side of the Kawarau River. Matured for a year in French oak casks, the 2016 vintage (5*) is already delicious. Bright ruby, it is fresh and full-bodied, with generous, ripe cherry, plum and spice flavours, showing excellent complexity, and fine-grained tannins. Elegant, rather than supercharged, it has loads of drink-young appeal.
