Enjoyable young, the skilfully crafted 2017 vintage (3.5*) offers top value. Grown in the Wairau Valley (60 per cent) and Awatere Valley (40 per cent), it was mostly handled in tanks, but 40 per cent of the blend was barrel-aged for 10 months. Bright ruby, it is full-bodied, fresh and smooth, with good depth of vibrant plum, cherry and spice flavours. Already delicious.
