Felton Road Bannockburn Central Otago Pinot Noir (2020)

The Bannockburn winery's 'standard' Pinot Noir is a distinguished wine, blended from its four sites in the district. Matured in French oak casks (30 per cent new in 2020), it is fermented with indigenous yeasts and bottled without fining or filtering. Barrel-aged for 13 months, the 2020 vintage (5*) is a deeply coloured, powerful, full-bodied red, with highly concentrated cherry, plum and spice flavours, nutty and savoury notes adding complexity, and fine, supple tannins. A very rich, ageworthy wine, it's well worth cellaring to 2024+.
