Review:
Promoted as ‘like going on an energetic dance with a Cuban beauty queen’, this bold, classy red is estate-grown in the Vina del Mar Vineyard at Onetangi and matured in American oak barriques. The most recent vintage I have tasted is the 2015 (5*), which had dense, inky, purple-flushed colour. A powerful, sturdy wine, with concentrated, well-ripened blackcurrant and plum flavours, it’s a structured, age-worthy style, delicious young, but likely to be at its best 2021+.
