The attractive 2018 vintage (4.5*), harvested from young vines, was fermented and matured for 10 months in French oak barrels (15 per cent new). Despite a label reference to 'lashings of toasty vanillin oak', it's a harmonious wine, fresh and full-bodied, with generous, ripe stone-fruit flavours, enriched but not dominated by oak, balanced acidity, very good complexity, and a lengthy finish. Drink now or cellar.
