Circuit North Canterbury Pinot Noir (2014)

From three sites at Waipara, including Black Estate, the debut 2014 vintage (4*) was hand-picked from 15 to 27-year-old vines, matured for a year in seasoned French oak barrels, and bottled without fining or filtration. Full ruby, it is mouthfilling and supple, with ripe plum/spice flavours and earthy, savoury notes adding considerable complexity. A very distinctive, youthful wine, it should be at its best 2018+. (From Black Estate.)
