Dolbel Estate Hawke’s Bay Chardonnay (2008)

Maturing well, with a nutty, slightly developed bouquet, the generous, sophisticated 2008 vintage (4.5*) was estate-grown, hand-harvested and fully barrel-fermented (French, 57 per cent new). It’s a sturdy, fleshy wine with concentrated, ripe stone-fruit flavours, dry, savoury and complex, a slightly toasty oak influence and a creamy-smooth finish.
