This highly impressive wine is estate-grown at Mangere, in South Auckland. The 2019 vintage (5*) was hand-picked, fermented with indigenous yeasts in French oak barriques (30 per cent new), and oak-aged for 11 months. Bright, light lemon/green, it has a fragrant, citrusy bouquet. A very elegant wine, it has concentrated, citrusy, peachy flavours, gently seasoned with toasty oak, slightly buttery notes adding complexity, balanced acidity, and a persistent finish. Still very youthful, it's well worth cellaring to 2023+.
