Certified organic, the 2015 vintage (5*) is 'the purest expression of Pinot Noir we can make'. Hand-picked in a block of the Raupo Creek Vineyard, in the Omaka Valley, and fermented with indigenous yeasts, it was matured for 18 months in French oak barriques and puncheons (25 per cent new), and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Ruby hued, with an inviting fragrance, it is mouthfilling, with generous, ripe cherry, plum, spice and nut flavours, good tannin backbone, and excellent depth, structure, complexity and harmony. Still unfolding, it should be at its best 2023+.
