Already drinking well, the 2019 vintage (4.5*) is a full-coloured Hawke's Bay red, blended from Merlot (56 per cent), Cabernet Sauvignon (39 per cent) and Malbec (5 per cent), grown in the Gimblett Gravels. Matured for 16 months in French oak casks, it is mouthfilling and supple, with strong, fresh blackcurrant, red berry, plum and spice flavours, gently seasoned with nutty oak, and a smooth, harmonious finish. Best drinking 2023+.
