This second-tier Hawke's Bay Chardonnay is designed to highlight its vibrant fruit characters, with a subtle wood influence. Already drinking well, the youthful 2019 vintage (4*), partly hand-picked, was fermented and matured for nine months in French oak barriques and puncheons (10 per cent new). Bright, light lemon/green, it is full-bodied, with good depth of fresh, vibrant, citrusy and peachy flavours, finely integrated oak, balanced acidity, and a slightly creamy, harmonious finish. Best drinking 2022+.
