The classy 2019 vintage (5*) is from the site previously called Wharekauhau Vineyard, planted in 1998. Deep ruby, it has a perfumed, savoury bouquet. Mouthfilling, it is impressively complex, with youthful, ripe cherry, plum, spice and nut flavours, rich and finely textured. Likely to be long-lived, it's well worth cellaring to 2023+.
