Johanneshof Maybern Single Vineyard Marlborough Pinot Noir (2019)

Estate-grown on a steep (30 degrees), north-facing slope at Koromiko, between Picton and Blenheim, the 2019 vintage (4*) of this distinctive wine was hand-harvested, fermented with indigenous yeasts and barrel-matured. Ruby hued, with a hint of development, it is mouthfilling, savoury and smooth, with spicy, nutty flavours, showing very good depth and complexity, and gentle tannins. A strongly varietal wine, it's drinking well now.
