The impressive 2017 vintage (5*) was hand-picked from the oldest vines in the Somerset and Gum Emperor vineyards, in the Southern Valleys, and matured for 10 months in French oak barriques. Deep ruby, it is a weighty, very savoury red, with concentrated, ripe cherry, plum and spice flavours, seasoned with nutty oak, excellent complexity and good tannin backbone. Maturing well, it is still unfolding and should be at its best 2022+.
