Estate-grown in the Wairau Valley, Marlborough, hand-harvested from mature vines, and co-fermented with a splash of Viognier (3 per cent), the 2018 vintage (4.5*) is a rare red (only two barrels were produced). Certified organic, it was oak-aged for 28 months, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Full-coloured, with a fresh, spicy bouquet, it is a full-bodied, vibrantly fruity, ageworthy wine, with strong, youthful, plummy, spicy flavours, oak complexity and supple tannins. Best drinking 2023+.
