The 2018 vintage (4.5*) is rare – only five barrels were made. Grown organically in the Churton Vineyard, in the Waihopai Valley, it was hand-picked from east-facing clay slopes, fermented with indigenous yeasts, oak-matured, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Ruby hued, it is an elegant, finely poised, savoury red, with strong, fresh, berryish, slighly herbal and nutty flavours, showing excellent complexity, gentle acidity and the structure to mature well. Best drinking 2023+.
