Elephant Hill Hawke's Bay Hieronymus (2019)

The powerful young 2019 vintage (5*) is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (60 per cent), Cabernet Franc (29 per cent) and Merlot (11 per cent), estate-grown in the Gimblett Gravels and matured in French oak casks (67 per cent new). It has bold, dark, purple-flushed colour and a fragrant, spicy bouquet. Still a baby, it has vibrant, concentrated blackcurrant, plum and spice flavours, showing excellent complexity, and firm, ripe tannins. Best drinking 2026+.
