Elephant Hill Hawke's Bay Hieronymus (2018)

The powerful 2018 vintage (5*) is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (58 per cent), Merlot (22 per cent), Cabernet Franc (19 per cent) and Malbec (1 per cent), estate-grown in the Gimblett Gravels and matured in French oak casks (70 per cent new). Dark and dense, it is full-bodied, with highly concentrated, youthful blackcurrant, plum, spice and nut flavours, and finely textured, supple tannins. A very classy red, it should flourish with cellaring; best drinking 2025+.
