The sturdy, generous 2019 vintage (4.5*) was grown at two North Canterbury sites and barrel-aged for nine months. Bright ruby, it is mouthfilling and sweet-fruited, with fresh, deep plum and spice flavours, savoury notes adding complexity, and a moderately firm finish. Full of youthful vigour, it should be at its best 2023+. Offering fine value, the 2020 vintage (4*) was fermented with indigenous yeasts and French oak-aged for seven months. Drinking well in its youth, it is a bright ruby, floral, graceful red, full-bodied, with ripe cherry, plum and spice flavours, gentle tannins, and very good depth and harmony.
