Clos Henri Marlborough Pinot Noir (2017)

From Henri Bourgeois, a top Loire Valley producer with a site near Renwick, the 2017 vintage (5*) is one of the finest yet. Hand-picked, it was matured for a year in French oak casks (20 per cent new). Full, bright ruby, it is fragrant and mouthfilling, with strong, ripe cherry, plum and spice flavours, complex and savoury, and good tannin backbone. Well worth cellaring, it's certified organic.
