The Elder, Martinborough Pinot Gris (2019)

This powerful, distinctive wine is estate-grown and hand-picked at Te Muna, tank-fermented and usually partly barrel-aged. Bright, light lemon/green, the 2019 vintage (5*) is full-bodied and fleshy, with concentrated, ripe stonefruit flavours, showing very good complexity, a slightly oily texture and a long, dry finish. A slightly Chardonnay-like style, it's already drinking well, but should also reward cellaring.
