Marsden Bay of Islands Chambourcin (2019)

Top vintages of this Northland red are generous, dark and flavour-packed. The youthful, finely balanced 2019 vintage (4.5*) was matured for 16 months in French and American oak casks (30 per cent new). Deeply coloured, it is fresh, sturdy and sweet-fruited, with strong, vibrant plummy, spicy flavours, a hint of liquorice, ripe, supple tannins, and a deliciously smooth finish. Best drinking mid-2021+.
