Maori Point Grand Reserve Central Otago Pinot Gris (2018)

Still on sale, the 2013 vintage (4.5*) was fermented with indigenous yeasts and lees-stirred in French oak barrels (50 per cent new), and ensconced in a heavy, punted bottle. Last tasted in 2018, it is a sturdy, fleshy wine with rich stone-fruit flavours to the fore, oak-derived complexity, balanced acidity, and a long, bone-dry finish.
