The 2019 vintage (5*) is an Alsace-style wine, estate-grown in the Home Block and fermented with indigenous yeasts in seasoned French oak barriques. From vines nearly 40 years old, 'with trunks as thick as thighs', it is bright, light lemon/green, with a youthful, highly perfumed bouquet. Mouthfilling, with vibrant peach, pear and spice flavours, showing unusual complexity, and a slightly sweet, rounded finish, it needs time; open 2022+.
