Already delicious, the 2019 vintage (4.5*) is a deeply coloured, fragrant red, hand-picked on the Takapau Plains and matured for nine months in French oak barrels (33 per cent new). Full-bodied, with a spicy bouquet, showing good complexity, it has concentrated, plummy, spicy flavours, a hint of liquorice, supple tannins, and excellent harmony. Drink now or cellar.
