The powerful 2016 vintage (4.5*) was barrel-aged for a year (20 per cent new oak), and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Deeply coloured, it has a fragrant bouquet of plums, herbs and liquorice. Bold and youthful, it is concentrated and clearly varietal, with a hint of tamarillo, nutty oak adding complexty, and good tannin backbone. Best 2021+.
