Jackson Estate Vintage Widow Marlborough Pinot Noir (2017)

The 2017 vintage (5*) was hand-picked from the oldest vines in the Somerset and Gum Emperor vineyards, in the Southern Valleys, and matured for 10 months in French oak barriques. Deep ruby, it is a weighty, very savoury red, with concentrated, ripe cherry, plum and spice flavours, seasoned with nutty oak, excellent complexity and good tannin backbone. Still youthful, it should be at its best 2022+.
