Hawkshead Central Otago Rosé (2020)

This wine is usually made from Pinot Noir grapes, although the label doesn't claim that. The 2020 vintage (4.5*), grown at Gibbston, was fermented with indigenous yeasts, partly (20 per cent) in seasoned French oak barriques, and lees-aged for four months. Bright pink, it is fresh and full-bodied, with vibrant, youthful strawberry, peach and spice flavours, dry (2 grams/litre of residual sugar) and strong. Best drinking mid-2021+.
