'For health-conscious Kiwis', the non-vintage wine (1*) released in early 2020 reminded me of biting into a Granny Smith apple. Harbouring no more than 0.5 per cent alcohol by volume, it was made by extracting alcohol, using spinning cone technology, so 'you can have a tipple or two of your favourite wine, without the pesky after-effects'. Sweetish (13 grams/litre of residual sugar), appley and crisp, it's bland, lacking the flavour delights of fine-quality Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc.
