Estate-grown in the Wairau Valley, Marlborough, hand-harvested from mature vines, and co-fermented with a splash of Viognier (2 per cent), the 2016 vintage (5*) is a rare red (only six barrels were produced). Certified organic, it is deeply coloured, mouthfilling and concentrated, with ripe blackcurrant, plum and spice flavours, fine-grained tannins, and a long, finely structured finish. A classy red, it should be very long-lived; best drinking 2021+.
