Fromm Churton Vineyard Marlborough Pinot Noir (2017)

The 2017 vintage (5*) is rare – only five barrels were made. Grown organically in the Churton Vineyard, in the Waihopai Valley, it was hand-picked from east-facing clay slopes, fermented with indigenous yeasts, oak-matured, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Full, bright ruby, it is fresh and smooth-flowing, with strong, vibrant plum, cherry and spice flavours, and a finely poised, long finish. A generous, savoury, supple red, with a real sense of youthful drive, it should be at its best 2021+.
