Elephant Hill Hawke's Bay Hieronymus (2017)

The powerful, very age-worthy 2017 vintage (5*) is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Malbec, estate-grown in the Gimblett Gravels and the Bridge Pa Triangle. Matured in French oak casks (65 per cent new), it is dark, with dense, youthful blackcurrant, plum and spice flavours, good tannin backbone, and impressive richness, structure and complexity. Best drinking 2025+.
