The youthful 2018 vintage (4.5*) is a rare red (963 bottles), grown in Hawke's Bay, matured for two years in French oak barrels (30 per cent new), and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Dark, fragrant and mouthfilling, it has strong, vibrant blackcurrant and spice flavours, a hint of herbs, fresh acidity and good tannin backbone. A very ageworthy red, it's well worth cellaring to 2023+.
