Currently restrained, the 2019 vintage (3.5*) was hand-harvested from 25 year-old vines at Gibbston and mostly handled in tanks; 30 per cent of the blend was fermented in new French oak casks, with extended lees aging. Mouthfilling, it is still very youthful, with vibrant, citrusy, slightly appley flavours, a subtle seasoning of oak, and a tightly structured, fully dry, lingering finish. It needs time; open 2022+.
