Estate-grown at Seaview, in the Awatere Valley, this wine is consistently classy. The 2019 vintage (5*) was mostly lees-aged for six months in tanks; 10 per cent of the blend was barrel-fermented. Bright, light lemon/green, it is aromatic, mouthfilling and vibrantly fruity, with impressive weight and intensity of ripely herbaceous flavours, showing a distinct touch of complexity, good acid spine, and a dry (3.5 grams/litre of residual sugar), persistent finish. Youthful, with excellent freshness, vigour and depth, it should offer top drinking during 2021.
