More elegant, less gutsy than many Malbecs, the 2017 vintage (5*) is a powerful red, matured in French (80 per cent) and Hungarian (20 per cent) oak casks (38 per cent new). Deeply coloured, it is mouthfilling and youthful, with fresh, dense, plummy, spicy flavours, and firm, but not grippy, tannins. Well worth cellaring to 2023 onwards, it should be long-lived.
