Black Estate Home North Canterbury Pinot Noir (2018)

Certified organic, the 2017 vintage (4*), estate-grown in the Home Vineyard at Omihi, was hand-picked from vines planted in 1994 and 2011. Fermented with indigenous yeasts, it was matured for a year in seasoned French oak barriques, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Bright ruby, it is medium-bodied, with moderately concentrated, plummy, spicy, slightly nutty flavours, threaded with fresh acidity, and a lively, finely structured finish. Best drinking 2022+. The 2018 vintage (4.5*) is ruby-hued, with a highly fragrant, savoury bouquet. Medium-bodied, it has strong, vibrant, plummy, spicy, nutty flavours, fresh acidity, and excellent complexity. Best drinking 2022+.
