Babich Hawke's Bay Merlot/Cabernet (2017)

Priced right, the 2017 vintage (3.5*) is full-coloured, mouthfilling and smooth. Wood-aged for a year, it has good depth of fresh, berryish, slightly spicy flavours, finely balanced tannins, and some savoury complexity. Best drinking 2021+.
