Estate-grown at Lowburn, the very age-worthy 2017 vintage (5*) was hand-picked, fermented with indigenous yeasts, matured for a year in French oak casks (20 per cent new), and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Deep ruby, it is mouthfilling, with dense, vibrant, plummy, spicy flavours, still fresh and youthful, and a well-structured, moderately firm finish. Full of potential, it's well worth cellaring to 2022+.
