Aurum Madeleine Organic Central Otago Pinot Noir (2016)

Named after the winemaker's daughter, the 2016 vintage (5*) was estate-grown at Lowburn, hand-picked, fermented with indigenous yeasts, matured for a year in seasoned French oak casks, and bottled unfined and unfiltered. Full (and not entirely clear) in colour, it is mouthfilling and silky-textured, with deep cherry, plum and spice flavours, supple and savoury, and excellent complexity and harmony. A thought-provoking wine, it should be at its best 2021+. Certified organic.
