Ashwell Martinborough Pinot Noir (2019)

The youthful 2018 vintage (4.5*) was barrel-matured for a year. Full, bright ruby, it's a very age-worthy, full-bodied red, with concentrated, ripe plum and spice flavours, nutty and savoury, and a moderately firm finish. Best drinking 2021+. The 2019 vintage (4.5*) is deep ruby, sweet-fruited and savoury. Full-bodied, it has very good concentration of cherry, plum and spice flavours, hints of liquorice and nuts, and impressive complexity. A very age-worthy red, it's well worth cellaring to 2022+.
