A wine of great presence, the vivacious 2013 vintage (5*) is promoted as the ‘crown jewel’ of Quartz Reef’s Central Otago sparklings. A blend of Chardonnay (91 per cent) and Pinot Noir (9 per cent), estate-grown at Bendigo, it is pale straw, with very intense, citrusy, yeasty, biscuity flavours, crisp acidity and a lasting, dry (4 grams/litre residual sugar) finish.
