Nautilus Marlborough Pinot Gris (2017)

The very attractive 2017 vintage (4.5*) is a full-bodied, single-vineyard wine, estate-grown in the Awatere Valley, hand-picked, and mostly tank-fermented (8 per cent of the blend was fermented in old oak casks). Bright, light lemon/green, it is mouthfilling and vibrant, with good concentration of pear, peach and spice flavours, showing a distinct touch of complexity, balanced acidity, and a dry (4 grams/litre of residual sugar), sustained finish. Drink now or cellar.
