Main Divide North Canterbury Gewürztraminer (2016)

From a ‘great’ year for Gewürztraminer, the 2016 vintage (4*) is a weighty, fleshy, very harmonious wine. Matured for six months in old French oak puncheons, it has plenty of fresh, peachy, distinctly spicy flavour, a touch of complexity, and a slightly sweet (12 grams/litre of residual sugar), well-rounded finish. Drink now or cellar. (From Pegasus Bay.)
