Grown and hand-picked at two sites adjacent to the Wairau River, on the north side of the valley, the 2015 vintage (4*) was fermented and matured for a year in French oak barriques (25 per cent new), and given a full, softening malolactic fermentation. Lemon-scented, it is mouthfilling and sweet-fruited, with a subtle seasoning of oak, good complexity, and a slightly buttery finish. Well worth cellaring.
