The Fifth Innings, Marlborough Pinot Noir (2017)

The sturdy 2014 vintage (4*) was estate-grown at Rapaura, fermented with indigenous yeasts and matured for over a year in French oak puncheons. Deep ruby, it is fleshy, with strong, ripe, plummy, spicy, nutty flavours, a hint of coffee, and good tannin backbone. Best drinking 2017+. (From Misty Cove.)
