Paddy Borthwick Left Hand New Zealand Pinot Noir (2014)

Estate-grown in the Wairarapa, this rare wine (70 cases per year) gives left-handed winemaker Braden Crosby the chance to express his ‘logical, precise’ approach. The 2014 vintage (4*) is an elegant red, mouthfilling and savoury, with vibrant plum and dried-herb flavours, generous and supple. The 2013 vintage (4.5*) has deep, fairly youthful colour. Mouthfilling and sweet-fruited, it is plummy, spicy and savoury, with fairly firm tannins, and very good concentration and complexity. Best drinking 2018+.
