The powerful, finely textured, harmonious 2014 vintage (5*) was hand-picked in the company’s vineyards in the Gimblett Gravels and Bridge Pa Triangle, and matured for 19 months in French oak casks (40 per cent new). The colour is dark and youthful; the palate is sturdy and sweet-fruited, with dense plum, spice and nut flavours, hints of blackcurrants and dark chocolate, and a long, supple finish. A generous red, it’s already enjoyable, but likely to be at its best 2018+.
