The 2013 vintage (4*) from this Hawke’s Bay producer was grown at two sites – at Alexandra and Tarras, in the Cromwell Basin – and was matured in French oak casks (25 per cent new). Deep ruby, it’s a youthful red with strong, ripe plum, cherry and spice flavours, savoury and supple. Showing good vibrancy and substance, it’s well worth cellaring.
